The Curse of a Toy
I always knew Jared would, one day, outgrow me.
I’m getting ahead of myself. Perhaps I should start at the beginning.
The point at which I became plastic and the point at which I met Jared felt as if they were two almost simultaneous events. Yet they were, in fact, decades apart. My plastic nature is one I struggle with. I am, you see, a toy in appearance only. My limbs and body are made of plastic, and am known to freeze when anything living enters the room. And yet I am sentient, I have a consciousness and memories and, at one time, a body. Sadly, I’ve learned the truth of my existence and it was not a pleasant journey.
